The company´s B2B business line went from strength to strength in the year of the pandemic, fostering relationships with former customers and increasing the number of zero-emission vehicles in the renting line.
In what was an extremely challenging year for the transport and mobility industry, Cooltra, the leading company in two-wheel sustainable mobility solutions, continued to consolidate its leading position in Europe and unified all its business lines under a new corporate image. The company is still focused on a cleaner and more sustainable type of mobility and rounded off 2020 with 65% of its fleet being electric, out of the total of 16,000 vehicles it has throughout Europe. It aims to have a 90% electric fleet by 2026.
Throughout 2020, Cooltra rolled out new motorcycle renting service agreements within its B2B line. Taking into account companies, institutions and self-employed workers, the company currently has a fleet of 3,000 motorcycles as part of its B2B renting service in Spain and 5,000 across Europe, the majority electric. Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Prosegur, Eulen, Just Eat, and Thyssen Krupp are just some of the companies that have already placed their trust in Cooltra, and which, in 2020, were joined by more than 20 institutions such as the Municpal Police of Madrid and the Mossos d´Esquadra. The company foresees the continuous growth of its electric renting service for companies and institituons in 2021, and already has new agreements to cover the police fleets in several cities such as Villareal, Vitoria, Logroño, Boadilla del Monte, Andratx, Orihuela and in Catalan towns such as Sitges, Tortosa and the Port of Tarragona.
Cooltra´s electric motorsharing service has consolidated and continued to grow in all its markets, thus maintaining its leadership in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Lisbon, Rome and Milan. In June last year, the company also launched a new electric bicycle service in Barcelona, which it will continue to roll out throughout 2021.

Co-founded in Barcelona in 2006 by Timo Buetefisch, Cooltra has been around for 15 years, in which it has expanded internationally, offering renting and motorsharing services in 6 European countries: Austria, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal and the Czech Republic. For its part, Cooltra´s shared mobility service will celebrate its 5th anniversary in 2021, during which it has built up a fleet of 7,200 electric vehicles, 1.2 million users 16,347,941 rides, equivalent to 4,130 tonnes of CO2 saved in the 6 cities it operates in.
At the end of 2020, the mobility company took the decision to unify all its business lines under the Cooltra brand and renew its corporate image. Since then, the motorsharing service has no longer been called “eCooltra”. The ‘e’, that stood for electric motorcycles was removed to extend the commitment to sustainable mobility to all areas of the company.
